Project Title: Silence of Waves

Synopsis: Paloma, a reckless teenager living in Sasabe (Mexico) decides to cross the border illegally in search of her father, a migrant smuggler who has disappeared. But in the middle of the night, when she is intercepted by Bob, a retired border agent, Paloma will discover what she dreads most.

WE ARE CURRENTLY CASTING FOR MULTIPLE CHARACTERS FOR THIS DRAMA SHORT FILM!

Launched by Grizzly Films, an independent film production company from Belgium,
"Silence of Waves" is a low-budget film that will be shot around Tucson.
What will be provided: Water/beverages, light snacks, and a great shooting experience
Compensation: Paid (half or full day - depends of the character)
NOTE: it's a non-union film.

(Around Tucson. And also, for the two main characters: Sasabe, USA + Sasabe, Mexico)

🎭 CAST BREAKDOWN:

MAIN PROTAGONIST – PALOMA
A teenage girl, Mexican type, aged 16-20, who looks younger (14-15). Should speak perfectly Mexican Spanish from Sonora State, but also English with a latino accent. Filming experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

MAIN ANTAGONIST – BOB
A stiff/silent man, American type, aged 60-65, cowboy style, not well shaven. Should speak perfectly English with a Southern accent. But also some words of Mexican Spanish. Filming experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

MOTHER OF PROTAGONIST – CLARA
A discrete and sensitive woman, Mexican/Sonoran type, aged 40-48. Should speak perfectly Mexican Spanish from Sonora State. Filming experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
Note: we are looking for someone who is ready to shoot a bath scene, having no problem being half nude.

FATHER OF PROTAGONIST
A friendly man, Mexican/Sonoran type, aged 40-48.
Note: This character is just needed for a photo shoot session in Tucson, before the shooting of the film.

DAUGHTER OF ANTAGONIST
A smiling teenage girl, Caucasian blonde type, aged 12-13.
Note: This character is just needed for a photo shoot session in Tucson, before the shooting of the film.

WIFE OF ANTAGONIST
A woman with long blonde hair, American type, aged 45-52, Southwestern style.
Note: This character is just needed for a photo shoot session in Tucson, before the shooting of the film.

BORDER PATROL AGENT 1 - JUAN
A young and strong/severe man, Latino type, aged 30-35. Should speak English and Spanish. Shooting experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

BORDER PATROL AGENT 2 - SCOTT
A young and strong man with beard, Latino type, aged 30-35. Shooting experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

4 MIGRANTS
We are looking for 4 young men, Latino type, aged 16-35. Should speak English and Spanish. Shooting experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

LATINO MAN WORKING AT A GAS STATION
A quiet man with moustache, Mexican/Sonoran type, aged 40-45. Who has to smoke for the role.
Shooting experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
